So in light of the new press announcement released by Bioware today I realize many Retake Mass Effect supports maybe disappointed and angry. We know exactly where Bioware stands now (at least at this point) and it seems they have decided not to change the ending, but instead provide more clarity. This is cause for unrest for many Retakers but I STRONGLY encourage you to remain civil and polite when addressing anyone involved with Bioware or EA. This is a trilogy you love after all and while this isn't exactly what you asked for make no mistake it is a victory. RetakeME3 has went from nothing to something in only a month and for those of you not satisfied with this announcement I suggest taking a wait and see kind of stance, if not until the content is released at least until PAX is over and they elaborate a little more. The content is free after all and if you truly are so passionate about this cause don't buy any DLC from EA or Bioware until after your satisfied. For corporations such as EA money often speaks louder than words. I for one have resigned to stay cautiously optimistic, but from what I've seen from twitter lately a lot of developers seem to be hinting at the fact that your choices will matter more and that it is indeed possible for Shepard to live "happily after all" and honestly if they address the choice issue they'll have solved at least 1/2 of the problem.
Until we see exactly how this all unfolds, stay strong Retakers and above all else stay civil.

A Month of Mass Effect
It's been nearly a month since Mass Effect 3 was released and the subsequent Facebook and Twitter groups banding together in hopes to do something about the devastatingly disappointing ending. Now PAX is nearing and this massive protest in favor of both consumers rights and endearment toward a "fitting" ending may, or may not be coming to a close. Along the way the Retake movement has proved itself to be in fact not a stereotypical mob or a group of entitled gamers, but instead kind, creative, and caring Paragons of protest. Over the course of a month they have acquired nearly 60,000 followers and this number continues to grow. But merely gathering followers isn't the only thing they've accomplished. The movement has lead mass mailing campaigns addressed to Bioware expressing their concern civilly and even established a charity and then reestablished more charities after the first one was shut down due to PR reasons. They've made testimonial videos expressing the specific opinions of fans regarding the ending. The group has even went as far to send a collection of over 400 cupcakes as a gesture of good will and a message attached hoping to reach the hearts of Bioware in hopes for change. Needless to say there's also been countless petitions to change the ending.
Through all of this they have remained largely civil despite the spread of misinformation and unfortunate bashing of game reviewers from IGN and other gaming oriented sites. This is merely a few of the things this movement has accomplished so far and it's certainly not the last as even more campaigns are currently under way.
Representatives of this movement will even be attending PAX in hope for a long overdue announcement from Bioware. Everything seems to be boiling down to PAX and where exactly Bioware intends to go from here.
Depending on their reply they can either seek shelter from their fans, or walk out into the storm holding a lightning rod.
